EVAPOTOR COIL
The main function of the evaporator coil is as a heat exchange location in the cooling system. More specifically, its functions include:Heat Absorption. Absorbing heat energy from the surrounding air or liquid to lower the temperature in that area (to become cold).
Evaporating the Refrigerant. Changing the state of the refrigerant (refrigerant/freon) from liquid to gas thru the process of heat absorption.
Reducing Air Humidity (Dehumidification). When humid air touches the surface of a very cold coil, the water vapor in the air will condense into water droplets and be drained out. This makes the air inside the room not only cold but also not too humid (feels fresher).
Advantages of the Evaporator Coil
High Heat Transfer Efficiency. With the presence of metal fins surrounding the copper pipe, the surface area in contact with the air becomes much larger. This makes the heat absorption process occur very quickly and efficiently.
Compact and Space-Saving Design Because the pipes are coiled, the evaporator can have a large total pipe length while still being packaged in a compact physical dimension. Very suitable for air conditioners or refrigerators with limited space.
Corrosion-Resistant and Durable Material Usually, the coil pipes are made of copper (a very good heat conductor) and the fins are made of aluminum. In modern industry, these coils are often coated with special layers such as Blue Fin or Gold Fin to prevent rust due to exposure to condensate water.
Even Cold Distribution. The structured coil shape allows the air blown by the fan (blower) to pass thru all the gaps evenly. As a result, the cold air blown into the room becomes more stable and consistent.
